Google verification meta tag - do we need to keep it?

    Hi. This is the meta tag that is required to verify site ownership by Google, you can do this or with some IIS servers you can also upload the HTML file. My question:

    Do we need to keep this? Sometimes I remove it and I still get results and after a while they ask me to verify it again!

    If it bothers you then delete it. It seems that Google checks it once but several times a year asks you to reconfirm that you're still the webmaster of the site creating other file or changing meta.
