How is it possible that a site can rank well Google and not in Yahoo? What makes Yahoo different?

Google and Yahoo have different algo... so Y's/G's serps differ a lot ...
For example, i could register a new domain , add some content and get lot's of backlinks, rank very well in Yahoo , but not into Google (because of the google sandbox effect)
Or... i can update my content very offen and rank pretty high in Yahoo, but not in Google

    Cryogenius,

Yahoo's algorithm is relatively biased towards on page factors. Try aligning the on page content with the meta tags.

Yep, It is important to get listed in yahoo’s organic results, Yahoo’s users are well targeted, you need keyword rich content especially for yahoo and more focus on page factors.

Google uses different algorithm for quality sites, that's why some sites are having hard time to be indexed by Google and to come to Google's top SERPs

Not all search engines are the same, search engines are like people. Whilst some search engines may like a certain site, they may have no time for another. Try to read up on some ways you can better SEO your site for each, and strike a balance between the two if at all possible...
