Google Using www. instead of http:// :(

I rank a PR 3 as http://googleminigames.com

I rank a PR 1 as http://www.googleminigames.com

Google Decides to use the lower ranking one.? How can i request them to change it.


It is frustrating to see my site drop in SERPS due to this..

Go in your root of public_html of your host and find .htaccess

Open with wordpad or notepad and add this:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
rewritecond %{http_host} ^www.googleminigames.com [nc]
rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://googleminigames.com/$1 [r=301,nc]

Code (markup):

Go in google webmaster tools at your domain - tools - Set preferred domain
and select:

Display URLs as googleminigames.com (for both www.googleminigames.com and googleminigames.com)

was it PR3 before?

 

I think you can do it with google webmaster tools and submit it for changes.

I am a PR three without the www and a pr one with the www and idk why google decided to index more often my PR 1 site. I am submitting right now so it should all work now just wait 2 whole days for serps to change

 

Did you actual rankings in the search engine for a keyword change because it was PR1?

 

i went down , but im going up again.. just need to get the http:// reindexed .. google hasnt visited as http:// since Jan. 14

 

It shouldn't go down because rankings are related to backlinks.

 

*sighs* google still doesnt indexes my site how i want and uses www. which causes lower serps ...

 

Perfect. Couldnt be a better answer for this. And aso start promoting your site with the http:// domain. you will soon find the results.

 

Yeah,,, i forgot to reply this was fixed and now im almost getting the traffic i want from search engines
