    Absolutely. No disagreement there whatsoever.

Exactly... making sure it does not appear in any anchor text for any incoming links.

Obviously you're doing it on purpose. I'm done.

If you mean pointing out the fatal flaws in your so-called "test", then of course I'm doing it on purpose...

There's a lot of mixed opinions on this topic. I figure that there's no harm in having meta keywords and meta description. Just a little bit more typing.

    Michael: Links alone won't make you rank, neither will meta description alone... but look, add them both together and it does work. {shows proof}
    minstrel: Doesn't count.
    Michael: Why not?
    minstrel: You used links.
Michael: Then why do the links only tests not rank?
minstrel: The one phrase was in proximity of a link.
Michael: They were all in proximity, why did the others not rank then?
    minstrel: Your test is flawed.
    Michael: Why?
minstrel: You didn't give it enough time.
Michael: {6 weeks later} How bout now?
    minstrel: Your test is flawed.
    Michael: Why?
    minstrel: You used links.
Michael: Then why do the links only not rank?
    minstrel: Your test is flawed.

Now, you're saying you're not pretending to be ignorant on purpose, just to piss me off and practice playing passive aggressive? That's what you are currently claiming?

I'm stating a fact: You are wrong in what you claim your little "test" demonstrates. The "test" is fatally flawed.

The problem is that you don't want to accept that fact.

That's because it's not a fact, it's you repeating yourself without backing it up. Ever.

google uses the keyword tag. i get visit for misspelled words (not much, but 200 a month its ok)
i only placed the mispelled keywords in my site. they were getting huge searches.
im thinking on optimizing them. (no, better not)

so this is a proof that google counts the keywords.
description, i dont think, when i see my sites on google, they dont show the exact description.

Wow this thread is getting hot. Anyways, minstrel, how is mvandemar's test fatally flawed? What's wrong with it? What's the flaw? And minstrel you are the guy who says meta description does not have any effect whatsoever on search results correct?

Similar to the Eliza program, never saying anything of content, and eerily devoid of anything resembling sensible conversation while still looking like it's replying.

You won't actually get a straight answer out of him. He pretends to be a psychiatrist in real life, who gets his jollies trying to frustrate people online. A little sad, tbh, the way some people struggle to get what scraps of enjoyment they can out of life.

    Read the thread, vandermar.

More of your trademarked misinformation and insults, vandermar.

I do not in fact "claim to be a psychiatrist in real life". I am a psychologist. That's not a claim - that's a fact. And I've never claimed to be anything else.

I wasn't insulting you bro, I was pointing out your tactics. You deliberately go in circles, and when pinned down to specifics reply with "read the thread", or "I already answered", when clearly you haven't.

You're lying, and your passive aggressive crap really is much more transparent than you seem to realize. I mean, seriously, what kind of psychologist is it who spends so much time on webmastering forums insulting people for fun bro?

In my profession, your post is a clear example of projection. Look it up, "bro". You don't seem to be capable of making a post these days without insulting anyone who disagrees with you.

And if you still haven't been able to comprehend what's wrong with your little "test", it's obvious you still haven't done the homework I assigned you.

You'd be further ahead to actually do that homework before you try to be one of the big boys.

Why don't you quote exactly where you proved this little flaw and put me in my place then. Show everyone here that I'm wrong, and why the fact that the only one that ranks is the one with both the anchor text and the meta description combined doesn't actually mean anything.

Read the thread and do your honmework. I've already said all that needs to be said. Talking to you about this any longer is a total waste of time. You refuse to be educated. Enjoy the ignorance.

Right there minstrel, how can you think that people can't tell you're lying? I know you think you're smarter than everyone else here, but it's just not the case.

Why do you bother doing that, anyways? What possible joy can you be getting from it?
