Google updating immediately

I've noticed after each blog I can see it within the hour on Google's index. The cache isn't updated, just the text.
I just tried it again and a post I did an hour ago is in the descriptive text.

Sorry if this has already been discussed

Well, I have noticed from one of my forums, as soon as a topic is posted it is indexed withing 8 hours - does seem quicker than before - well noticed there!

Most probably with your blog you are also pinging places that get picked up quickly by google, then google visits and indexes your new post. :)

Can't speak for anyone else t-bo but if that's the case it'll be the ping that Blogspot does on it's own because I don't usually ping at Pingoat or Technorati, or these other places.

It just seems like Google is updating the index and the cache comes later. I think it's a great idea because it encourages you to post something because there is an immediate reward

This thing is bananas. I had a minor error on my post and corrected it. Within thirty minutes the text on google changed from 'Flavor' to 'Rock'
    That is weird. But good-weird

It seems even quicker on a few of my forums. No sooner do you hit the "Post Thread" button and GoogleBot is there sucking up the new post!

Google indexing power is impressive when compared to the herds of Yahoo slurps who come in hundreds, linger for hours and go back with nothing

My blog gets cached pretty quickly also - great for getting traffic from Google's blog search.

For me it usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes for the new page to start showing up in Google. No one else even comes close to this level of speed. Google may be buying new businesses right and left, but they have as of yet not let their main search engine suffer in the process.

    http://www.clantemplates2.com

Every thread/post is indexed within 10 seconds of posting it, its crazy google and yahoo bots are fighting over my site lol. I shot up the ranks in google and yahoo for

    "Free clan templates"

    "Free clan cms"

Was about 10th page, then I done alot of seo work to the site now I am pag 1 on most keywords and page 2 on some. Not bad hey.
