I've had my blog for quite some time now - but lately I've been seeing a steady drop in unique visits. I'm not sure if it's Hummingbird or low quality backlinks (i have plenty of footer credit backlinks). Screenshot of my 3 month analytics I don't have any "manual actions" in Webmaster tools. I don't accept paid links. I'm pretty sure my site is clean (no Google penalties etc). My PR is 6 and I have plenty of original and guest post content. The past 2-3 months I've been publishing extra posts - but I really wonder - why the steady decline? My website is: http://fearlessflyer.com Anyone experiencing the same problem? Any help will be appreciated.
I suggest you to check you back-links in webmaster (as well as via other tools). I checked your web-sites and my findings are below: > You have lots of exact anchor text links > 21% links are coming with "web design by fearless flyer" anchor-text > Your website back-links are continuously going down from may 2013 (see the snapshot) > Your social appearance is not so high as per your back-links (417K back-links) and much more... > Ranked Keywords are continuously going downwards (See snapshot) I suggest you to analyze your back-links.. There is no any message in webmaster that doesn't mean that google have not penalized you.
I did see that in ahrefs.com. First, do I even need to worry - why the sudden decrease in backlinks? The "web design by fearlessflyer.com" is coming from footer links of my free wordpress themes that i give away for free. Should I change these footer credit links? or even remove them completely? Also, the reason why I'm blaming recent Google updates is because I've had these backlinks for many years. I don't publish duplicates, follow good SEO practices and don't take paid / sponsored links - just so I don't get penalized. My page visits have been constantly the same - up until 3 months ago - which makes perfect alignment with the hummingbird update. I will take your advice though. Thanks for you help on this @naveenjosh .
