To those idiots who keep yelling "Google update", here's a tip; if your PR0 pages are still PR0 then there is NO update, unless you're totally clueless about SEO. And yes, in case you didn't know; it's a PAGE rank, PAGE you hear.... not a site rank, a PAGE rank! Ok, I really need a cry emoticon on this board, I've been doing it a lot these days at DP!
Always counting? My understanding has always been that PR stays the same until a "dance". As to the importance of the Toolbar PR, my point was that it HAS reflected recent changes but that normally it stays the same between these updates.
Yes, it's a PAGE rank, but for most sites, the most important page is the main index landing page - what we used to call the "home page". That page generally has the highest PR and when people say "I am PR5" or whatever, that's what they mean. It's a lot easier to say "my site is PR5" than "my /index.html is PR5"
A page rank update and a ranking update are two different things. PR updates more than we see. Quite a few datacenters are showing different ranking results at the moment. Not sure if this is big daddy getting rolled out.
It used to be that way, now its not anymore... now google has their own 24 hour PR and we have the 3month one.
I see different data over quite a few data centers. My main site is all over the place for a few keywords. Too early to tell whether it is old data or an update.
I notice that the web rank prediction tools is showing believable results now so maybe an update is close. Put your ear to the ground and try and hear the rumble. jg123
