I'm seeing last weeks bigdaddy propagating on many datacenters. Odd things are happening link: on 64.233.187.99 (my dc) showing old results, but the cached pages don't contain the link on the page! Looks like new sites are finally going to show up in the index soon..
Blah! Blah! I am being sent back to the dark ages.... Ack! Back links went from 7110 to 86? WTF? Holy crap.. there went my 7 PR it looks like it might drop to 6 now. Oh, the sky is really falling. Can I just turn back time to August of 2005, my best month of all time.
Someone just shoot me. I can't take it. I know I called Google the perfect Terrorist this morning, but I really didn't mean it. I didn't know this was going to happen as a result.
I have not seen a backlink update for a new site as well, so maybe this is just pre flux before the sky falls on a lot of sites.
Not sure what's going on since I don't have much in the way of SERPs, but I have seen my PR fluctuate between 3 and 5 today. My PR was 3 prior to the last update. I hope I'm not headed back in that direction!
No. The "future pagerank" tools only go so far, and one area where they fall flat IMO is newer sites. I have a handful showing at zero there, but I know they'll have SOME sort of PR. I'm doing a little "Pagerank predictor roundup" and you can see where my sites that previously had a PR0 are predicted to still have that... which won't be happening.
hmm I checked your chart. The PR6 prediction seems prevident. I've also been getting that for one of my sites via iwebtools. I actually afraid to do anymore linking at this point as well since google is obvious spazing left and right and attempting to purdge old data. Hopefully this will all be over within 2 weeks.
some of the sites are showing different pr from what i saw few days ago is this a mere fluctuation or actual pr update result. thanks
This isn't a PR update its simple a fluctuation. Its perging old data and re-evaluating sites. Its doing this over and over and over again. Looking for results to different each time. Once it has run this check for a predetermined amount of time it will average the results and generate a new PR for your site. Simple ignore the current results as they are not accurate since a PR6 prediction could end up being a PR0.
geez, the more and more threads I read, the more idiotic I feel. The keywords you guys throw out make my head feel lite.... It will take a few more headaches I believe until I can fully interpret this lingo of yours. However, I feel like I'm learning a language through voice, while totally deaf....lol oh well.... If you have any reference links, please let me know...
The best way to know if an update has REALLY started is to just watch your website stats for major changes. When there is a real update going on you'll see big differences from one day to the next, either up or down.
Well, watching my keywords on mcdar's dance tool is showing my site floating up and down in the top 10... different every five minutes, different from data center to data center. I would love to be an engineer at google, and get the inside scoop on this... Just think - what would it feel like to actually know how PR and updates work?
I think that google's been working on the update for the past few weeks. I've seen alot of weird things happening that shouldn't be. I believe they're sorting through things and getting everything where it should be. I think there running tests and trying to figure out exactly where site's should be ranked. Obviously the most significant update yet.
Maybe I need to proffer an apology here, because even tho I'm seeing backlink number's I've seen before, on 64.233.171.* I'm seeing major serps movement... wow.. i sincerely hope that is what the update is going to look like, coz it's puts me higher than I have ever been before. =)
