When "update" happened all my backlinks changed. None of old disappered, only PR4+ new appered.

You all have backlinks from bad sites I guess.

    ;)

Interesting that so many people seem to feel that they actually "lost" backlinks in this PR update (or whatever it is).

I can also see that my backlinks shown with the link: search have now reverted to last months listing, but the interesting thing is that the backlinks shown with the @URL search have not changed at all, which to me is pretty good confirmation that this "update" was not so much about gaining or losing links, as it was about what links are displayed with the link: search.

My amount of backlinks has doubled while most people seem to be "losing" them. I notice for my site that backlinks from directories arn't showing up anymore but I've read allready responces on other forums from people saying they are noticing more backlinks from directories ...

Weird, but goole doesn't show any of dmoz.org links to my sites, when I lookup for link:site. It doesn't show google's diserctory links as well.
I checked cache of both, and my sites are in there (as they were for a long time).

Well, I for one am happy that Google turned back the clock.
I had 246 backlinks for my genealogy site but during the "update" it was only showing 69 backlinks.
Huge drop, especially because I was expecting several new backlinks to finally show up. So, I was expecting to see a big increase. What a shock it was to see less than half of BLs showing.

My serps changed a little this week.
I was steady at number 6 for genealogist. Then, it dropped to 8 and then during the "update" it went to 10. It is still showing a ranking of 10 even with the old BLs showing.

No other changes in SERPS except for my main keyword mentioned above.

Did anyone else see a drop in their BL and SERPS at the same time?

No, we were one of the "lucky" ones who gained a number of back links although many were lower PR pages. It sure would be a good time for Shawn to get DP PR values up to "his standard" along with our signature links. ;)

my backlinks dropped to a smattering of a few paltry links and have stayed that way :(

i suppose at least i didn't see any decrease (or increase for that matter) in SERP position or PR. - (touch wood) .......not like i could decrease any further for my keyphrases anyway.

I noticed since this update, there's something wrong with the language restriction on Google. If I do a search for one of my keywords on Google ( dutch pages only ), my website is nowhere to be found ( not in top 1000 ) while a search with no restrictions, I end up at #300. I used to do great for all my keywords with the language restriction. Anyone else with a foreign ( non-english ) website who is seeing something similar maybe ?

I'm #1 in Russian, I'm #1 in English, I'm not loosing any backlings they just changed once and report shows only PR4+ backlings and my daily traffic from Google is 23,000 uniq users.

I guess Sergey Brin remembered me when we met in Russia once (not joking) and now I have special positions in Google (don't know joking or not)

"Who wants the part of special services from Google owners?!" (joking) ;)
