My traffic droped today under 50%..what's going on??

 

Google continually updates its results and some sectors get larger changes than others. Perhaps an update hit your sector or perhaps it is just a glitch. Have you checked your rankings across Google's DCs.

 

nobody can understand what google is doing . your traffic sometimes goes up and sometimes fall down. it's normal for google

 

this is not just a ussually or continually update.. this is a huge update.. my traffic droped a lot on many completelly different websites

 

I haven't see much of a change for my range of sites.

Well this is not the right forum to discuss individual sites - if you can list your urls, ask for a review in the SEO subforum of the Reviews area. There are too many variables to consider without knowing your sites.

 

are you getting most of your traffic from one query or from long tail results?

long tail tends to be much, much more stable

 

I was also seeing a lot of changes earlyer today. But it is back to yesterdays results now.

 

theres a lot of chages everyday.. thats why we have to maintain
the traffic of our site...

 

Welcome to google - it happens all time with algo updates going on periodically - and nowadays very frequently with google

 

On one of my sites, site: command is showing only 3000 (exactly) pages, previously it used to show 13,000 (exactly). So, it seems Google did change something.

 

Why dont you mail google people and ask them the reason for it and you can send them log file to show them.

 

We should all do this. Google will love us for it.

 

That's why you have to constantly improve your ranking so your position in the search engines will be undisputed.

 

For some reason I get a drop every Friday, without fail.

 

hmmm my traffic has dropped 50 per cent today, across a range of kws not just one, seems somthings going on lot of my kws have disappeared completely or at best out of top 100

 

Yeah, looks like some major update there, been seeing a lot of different sites on the top search results.

 

Perhaps that has to do with your niche searches, ie like more searches on the weekend. etc..

 

Evertime i see my web site drop on pr. or serps i soon see a google spider result around the corner and than my sites back to normal....

 

I seen on searchenginewatch.com's journal that google is adding a new algorithm to there search results. this algorithm is an updated version of there "adwords landing page quality score" that they already use for determining what ads to run on adsence sites but has been updated to be used with their exsisting SE algo. So if your site scores low on this it will effect your ranking in the SERPs and from what i hear it carries as much weight as what the google Page Rank algo did when it was first released.......

 

this day my indrxed web pages increased so my traffic incrase a bit of. But this is nut update google make this sometimes.
