Hi, Situation is I have total 15 websites; all are of same theme and industry. Well before 2 weeks that on 22nd of Jan I lost all my sites ranking. Previously all were having amazing rankings on Google. When I go for the reasons people were saying that they may be penalize by Google. I am also not able to find my site by typing just site name in Google search. They all are hosted on same server, also we have interlinked them - Is this the cause for that? I am not using any black hat technique. Yes I am maintaining a Link Exchange page, but all are having Google cached, index and not violating Google webmaster guideline. I have done canonical redirection from http://sidedomain.com to http://www.sitedomain.com through .htaccess We were maintaining duplicate pages previously, but after getting this rank down we have removed all the pages which consider as duplicate in eyes of Google. Now what should I do, Is there any way to tell Google that this is what by mistake, we didn’t do it deliberately. How we can get our ranks back. How much time it will take to get back. Previously it was on first page now its coming up in between 50 t0 60. It comes up and goes down regularly, today it’s in between 30 to 40 tomorrow it may beyond 60th position. Please let me know what is the reason, why all sites ranking gone down, Is there any update going on in Google, Does Google have change anything in their Algo. Any help would be a great help.
It sounds like you suffered a penalty as a result of your cross linking and related link profiles. Google doesn't like two websites to have very similar link profiles, especially when they are owned by the same person. You need to make each of those websites more unique. Get some good backlinks to each website, but make a point of only getting one link from each website. A lot of people on this forum have your same problem. Most don't know how to get around the problem. I have only heard from one person who claims to overcome such a penalty. He said he just worked hard at new new unique content to his website on a regular basis. I guess in time that content built up some natural links and he overcame the penalty.
Google likes every link, the problem is that who links you or if you link someone, the link must be alive. The small "problem" that you have, may be caused by Google Dance, do not worry - everything will come back to normal. /jik
I have never seen Google know someone out of the top position for their own name due to any dance. What is described sounds like a classic penalty. Google doesn't like all links, some are worse than none. One can request reconsideration from Webmaster Tools. The problem with that is a live person will review the site and if it does not add value to the index the penalty won't be removed. I've heard people speculate that the penalty can be from a red flag in the algo. If you don't want the human review, I would suggest concentrating on one of your sites and really building it out as unique with new, original content. If you're red-flagged, I would only add real quality links if you can find them.
Hey fishfinder, U r facing the same problem. U find any solution for this? What can we do to come out from penalty? If we add new and new unique content at an alternate day than what are the chances overcome it?
sounds like a penalty - manual penalization from google. Rework ur SEO, and send a reconsideration, and keeps fingers crossed.
Add new content that is different to each site. Also lookm for new backlinks to freshen up the sites. Don't worry too much. Just be careful you have not done any crosslinks Cheers, Aphp
My site is still penalized. I'm going to give it until next PR update and see what happens. In the mean time, I'm cleaning up the site, ditching some questionable links and still adding content. If after next PR nothing changes, I'll submit a reconsideration request and hope for the best. My penalty wasn't from links between sites I own. I don't know what caused it as the site abides by googles webmaster guidelines. Use the time to drive traffic from other sources and to clean up your penalized sites.
I'm having the same problem, and it first hit me in december. I submitted a reconsideration request but nothing changed. Also i replaced all my content, remove all external links and stuff like this. No results !
Don't be too hasty about it warrior. If it was a minor filter, you should be able to get things back to normal in time.
