Like many I have been hit by the latest update, and although there is still hope whilst the daily flux continues, I have been examining the web sites for trends. These results are for 3 regional French Property sites created in the same time frame effectively using the same "template" They have in common 1) Coop "advert" links b) Carvers LMA According to MarketLeap "Aquitaine" 832 links and 167 pages (in Google) "Centre" 239 links and 112 pages "Limousin" 3140 links and 531 pages Aquitaine and Centre are nowhere on Google after ranking on page 1. Limousin is ranking well for most of our important keywords on page 1 - have to say not all DCs though. Initially "Limousin" bombed but within a few days it has recovered completely. But the others have not... All these sites rank well on Yahoo and MSN. So is content more important in the new algo or when you have huge numbers of back links the filter does not knock you out?? Probably - we should be sitting back for another week to see how it all pans out before taking any action......here's hoping!!!
great case study, like a clinical study of twins to determine the cause of a disease or something. but as far as back links is concerned, i doubt that is the issue. nor content. i reign supreme in content and BL but got wiped out nonetheless. are there no other differences between "limousin" and the other two?
i think you should send this case study out to google staff and asks for explantion we should call google (the Anty-Developper SE)
