so basically a good site according to google is going to be the one with good content, images and videos? right? that cannot apply to all the sites, I dont understand their way of perception yet
Mmmmm ... where did this article come from? I cant see this is going to work the way everyone is suggesting ... If i search 'honda motorbike' and position 1 = honda offical site and position 2 = http: // www.xxxxxxxxxx.com/images/honda-motorbike.jpg It wont take long before google lose a lot of there auidence ! Everyone will start using yahoo and even msn ! Google already admit that the core business is the search engine so why would the risk that ??? It would be open to soooooo muuuucccchhhhhh spam ! Personally i think they will make the links at the top of the serps for IMAGES | VIDEOS will become bigger ... ?
It's funny how u go to google now,and click on MORE,it does NOT even show google Earth. It shows blog search, google labs etc,but NOT google earth. I want to email google about this, how can I suggest them to put google earth in the drop down menu?
I can't see them releasing their alg. because then people could just work of that to rank their sites... gives some people an unfair advantage over others.
It says in the blog that "Google just announced....." Where can i see the link from google about this issue?
i saw a youtube video in SERPs today when i did a regular google search. it had a thumbnail of the video before the youtube SERP result. is this one of the things this article is talking about?? seemed really out of place.
yes the pics at the bottom would show up for some quries, i guess they were just testing some thing few weeks back
Actually, if Google proceeds this way, it will reinforce a strategy I've been using successfully since January. And that is a targeted "niche" email campaign to the likeliest potential visitors to my website. For three months now I've been Googling email address lists of the likeliest visitors to my site (that is, Christian pastors and leaders). I send them a personalized email message introducing the website. The results? The number of returning visitors has risen 41% over the past three months. Yesterday I had 189 repeat visitors. They have found the website and have become loyal visitors. They no longer depend on Google, but on their bookmark to my website. So I plan to spend zero time trying to broaden my SEO into video or other areas to try to game Google, because the niche emailing is building a large base of continually returning visitors. I think my time spent on more niche emailing will pay greater dividends than trying to chase Google's changing algorithms. This strategy probably wouldn't work for many websites. But for those with an identifiable primary customer base, you might try personalized emails to introduce your site to them. Is it time-consuming? You bet! But it is working very well.
For a SEO in some ways this is actually pretty good, it means more tools and methods to manipulate the results for a first page ranking. However... On competative terms you will mostly have YouTube, Google video etc dominating the video results and authority sites dominating news and book listings. So some good, some bad. BUT i guarantee part of Google's reasoning is they know average webmasters will be pushed out of page one/two and turn to Adwords campaigns for traffic ie more revenue for Mr G.
I wonder how easy it will be to rank for business oriented videos.. my major keyword has absolutely no videos in youtube or any of the other video services. Perhaps their new system will limit the videos for business/shopping related searches.
I think this would be a horrible idea. If you want to search for images or videos you search for videos or images. If I start getting image or video results when I am not looking for it I've used google for the last time.
