    Hi

I am experiencing quite difference results in google.uk and google.com I am a UK based company but google.com seems to have me listed at the top page 1 and uk site puts me somewhere near the bottom. This applies to all of my target keywords. Can someone explain the reason why? if it was .com showing less favourable results i could understand it. Also how can i get these results in uk google?

You may consider checking these out first

    1. What is your current domain extension? Is it com or .co.uk?
    2. Where is your website hosting? Is it US or UK based web hosting company?
    3. What is type of English for overall content written? Is it US or British style?
    4. What is your link building strategy? Where is the most your backlinks come from? Are they based in US or UK?

The ranking for local Google search, such as Google.co.uk tend to rank harder unless you have .co.uk domain and hosted under UK based web hosting company. How backlinks originated are the influence as well.

In my own experiences, if you need to rank for Google.co.uk, you need to build backlinks from more UK sites using your targeted keywords and their variants as anchor text.

one other thing you can also try is in google webmaster tools, you can specify which country you are targetting. you may find it is currently set to nothing, or US, and you can change it to UK. That tells Google that you are targetting UK people instead, which may help with your UK rankings.

Whose your target audience? Get more .uk backlinks if you prefer UK traffic, but also think some ways to get advantage being listed on top from google.com..

First reason maybe hosting and domain (if you have UK IP and .co.uk domain - that is positive factor for ranking in google.co.uk)
Second reason maybe backlinks (backlinks from UK websites are positive factor for ranking in google.co.uk)

Doesn't Google.com and .co.uk use a different set of spiders so that results will always be different?

If your domain extension is not .co.uk then in the google.co.uk your site will likely do worse than in google.com.

I have also had the same problem. I have a number of domain extensions with.com and hosted by godaddy although I live in the UK. Despite changing in webmaster tools in order to target audiences in the UK, in msn bing and google , I find listed as US Sites.
