That is cool!! Inputting almost any word or phrase...gasoline, airfares, gps, digital camera...gives interesting results. And the comparison feature...purdue, penn state...can lead to an evening's discussions and philosophy-zing.
The trends means more indian visitor comes to DP by searching 'digital point', it doesn't necessarily mean more indians on DP..but ya.. there are many..including me..
Very addictive and fun tool; I've ran too many comparisons that I'm experiencing blurred vision ... Love it!
try out this http://www.google.com/trends?q=google%C+yahoo&ctab=1&geo=all&date=all Yahoo holds edge all over according to this..
Why will somebody search "google" while on google.. so obviously yahoo will top on google here. alteast at one place....
Just like inputting: iowa, texas Geesh, this poor state can not even get more searches than that big state to the south. So everyone help us out...do iowa specific searches for a week and see if that raises our rankings...lol
I am now using it in addition to overture and keyword tracker to find new niches. What I do is I compare keywords for which I am in the top ten or top three in goole and so I know the traffic about them with keywords I am thinking on using on new websites.
you have to use now both overture tool and google trends to find about a keyword the major differene is that trend actually doesnot tell total searches , but it is good for comparison and to see TREND of keyword seach
its actually useless....i tested many words..it takes the estimated potential "TREND" so if there are 10 million people in country A and 1 billion people in country B and 10% of country A searches for a keyword..and country B has 8% population searching that same keyword..it will show COUNTRY A as #1 and CountryB as #2 ...they should give the amounts of searches...otherwise everything else is useless
The problem is IE comes with the OS, so no one searches for IE. Firefox still has more ground to gain. Btw, I'm a supporter of Firefox
Very neat. I just started playing with some keywords and receive some useful results. this is a must for internet marketers. Lets hope it develops further for terms with lower searchs
