Hi, if I search for the comparison between keyword (for example) "A" and "B" in Google trends, I see that keyword "A" has much more visitors (the graph for keyword "A" is higher than keyword "B"). But in keyworddiscovery.com and wordtracker.com, keyword "B" has about 5 times better traffic than keyword "A". Which tools are more accurate? I think Google trends is better because it comes from Google itself but I want your opinion. I need it! Edited: To make my question clear for everyone, I give you the exact story of my problem: 1. I HAVE A WEBSITE IN ONE NICHE AND I AM RANKED FIRST IN MY TARGETED KEYWORD 2. Then I created a TOTALLY DIFFERENT WEBSITE IN TOTALLY DIFFERENT NICHE. 3. Let's say my older website is targeting keyword "B" (which I already ranked first in Google), and my newer website is targeting keyword "A" 4. My older website got around 200 visitors per day from keyword B. Now I want to know how much the potential of keyword A for my newer website (Understand? If not, back to no. 1) 5. Then I went to Google trends and I compare keyword "A" and keyword "B". Google trends told me that keyword "A" has much more visitors than keyword "B". How could I know? Just type it: "keyword A, keyword B" in google trends. 6. Then I checked keyword "A" and "B" in keyworddiscovery.com and wordtracker.com. Strangely, KD and wordtracker told me that keyword "B" has much more traffic than keyword "A". NOW the question is, why is this happening and what should I do? Everyone here suggesting me to target both keywords. Hey man, i have conquered the other keyword and that's not the point i'm creating this thread!
Keyword tools that are not owned by Google are only estimating the Google numbers. Go with what Google is telling you. Also try their Adwords tool.
About adwords tool, it is telling me that both keyword "A" and "B" have average traffic (both green bars are showing exactly the same amount of traffic).
No, both keywords are in different niches. OK here, i have a site in niche "B" and I am ranked first in that keyword. Now I have a site in different niche (totally different). Because I know how much visitors came to my site from keyword "B", so now I want to know whether keyword "A" has much more visitors or not from keyword "B". But I'm confused because different tools are showing different comparisons. That's why I'm asking this.
Actually I don’t believe on one keyword suggestion tool. I search keywords in four and five keyword suggestion tools after it target keywords. Which keyword shows every tool, I select it and optimize my site on that keyword. I use this keyword suggestion tools. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal http://www.iwebtool.com/keyword_lookup http://www.keyworddiscovery.com http://www.digitalpoint.com
But do you believe in Google trends? Now this is the real question. Google trends shows me a big difference from keyword suggestion tools. I don't care about the other tools as long as Google trends shows the real comparison, that's all. Read my first and second post in this thread. I don't want to be confused by keyword suggestion tools, but OF COURSE i don't want to be confused by Google trends as well.
If Both the keywords are from different niches, than select the keyword which is best suitable to your web page content. You should use both the targeted keywords in Title, This will definately help you. Regards,
What are you talking about...i'm not a newbie. Of course I know what keywords are the best for my websites and what kind of title that can affect SERPs. jeez, please read my post again, it seems you do not understand my question at all. Read here: Understand? I already have a website in niche "B", why should I target that keyword again? Now read this carefully (I will edit the first post as well): 1. I HAVE A WEBSITE IN ONE NICHE AND I AM RANKED FIRST IN MY TARGETED KEYWORD 2. Now I have created a TOTALLY DIFFERENT WEBSITE FROM MY OLDER WEBSITE AND I WANT TO TARGET A KEYWORD 3.
I already told you why it was happening. Keyword tools are giving you estimates and not actual numbers where as Google trends gives you more of an idea of actual popularity. Do yourself a favour and get the 2nd site ranking, you'll find out which is more popular then. There is no straight answer to what you are asking except to follow what Google is telling you as their data is real, without specific numbers though.
OK then, thanks for your answer. Actually I always believe much more in Google trends for comparison because it comes from Google themselves. I am just curious.
You do right to look at Google's data and remember what curiosity did to the cat? Whatever direction you take I hope you get the best of both worlds with the 2 sites. Good luck.
I have also used the Google suggest tools... But when I search for keywords which I previously suggests from Google the keywords is gone... So this Google suggest is just a compilation of searches for previous 3 months... but not stable since the keywords that I'm using is gone...
I use Google Trends a lot. I have come to trust all their data and no longer bother with any other keyword tools.
