YES, in answer to your question, I have over a 1000 dot.info's. So im pretty sure i qualify for a solid answer.

Dot infos do rank. and there are some great info sites available. And some fantastic info names, no one else, seems to want...?

    However,,,"I have found"
My coms rank higher, get better traffic, and pay on average higher cpm than any other

    second best.NET

    3rd,,,,,, drumroll... ORG
4th best domain name extention dot INFO...

i would want to believe google treates all tld as equal but then i never saw a .info or .vc or .cc or anything like that come up as a top ranking.

i know there are other factors involved but still...

If you're going to develop it, the extension doesn't really matter. If you're going to sell the domain name, .com is way more valuable.

    Hi there,

Let me give your a small scenario .

    When I type any word to find anything, I USED TO type " xxxx.com " , yahoo.com, Google.com , Microsoft.com etc.

Do you think you will type Google.info , Yahoo.info ?

How do you think my 2 cents opinion ? :)

    Have a great day

    Nice of sharing !

I doubt that good makes differences between TLD's this way. However I think .edu and .gov might get some special treatment :)

.info = SPAM in most cases. Spammers use .info because it costs just $0.99. Google will assume your site is most likely to be a spam site if you use a .info domain but of the content is good and non spammy, you would probably not be penalized. Just that it will be scrutinized a bit more for SPAM.

If all are treated the same, how come the domain names are always more expensive with .com!

the question was ;if google treats em the same. i believe google does, but surfers dont, so .com names will do better, hence more expensive.

info's are very likely to stay in sandbox longer. Once they are out, there is no difference beetween com and info. Google wants you believe that they treat all tlds the same; however, it is not true. I have tested info, com difference with 5 domains. Coms rank better in the first 4 months. Then the difference disappears.

According my experience, google indexes .info domains with some delay.
For .info domains over one year in serps there is no difference beetween .info and other tlds.

I will prefer .com simply because if you type a word in the add bar it opens the .com site not the .info site
