In my efforts to understand just what the heck is going on with my page, I have come to the next idea. I have a ebay affiliate link on my page to items that my visitors may be interested in. Is it possible that this eBay rover link on my page caused my pages to take a serious header in Google SERPS?
I thought so too until I read this: http://forums.ebay.co.uk/thread.jspa?threadID=1100093483&tstart=0&mod=1192392772806 This is why I am asking people on here.
Typically Google will lower your rankings for having affiliate links on your site.....if you dont create value I think this is because your site is typically just a mash up of every other affiliate site out their.....and typically websites that have a lot of affiliate links on their site have hardly any more value than the other cookie cutter affiliate sites out their.... If you are going to have an affiliate site then create value for users....If you create value for users...then users will link and talk about your valuable site......if your site has value to users then Google will rank your site accordingly...
i totally agree with James.. Brother ebay rover is treated as an affil by Google But if u promote good quality UNIQUE Content with eBay Rover affil links then your site wont take a dip in the SERPS coz the googlebot will treat the good content as a major value add for the end user.
