Google Translate

    Hi,

I would like to optimize my site for traffic by installing the google translate button in a sidebar on my site. I have also installed the wordpess plugin Amazon Affiliate Link Localizer. This plugin automatically changes your Amazon links to point to your visitor's local Amazon store while using your affiliate ID for that country. My thought was by using this plugin combined with the google translate button would help increase conversions. The site would be an affiliate type site. The scenario I pictured would be someone who had limited english skills could click on the translate button, browse the site, select a product with an affiliate link and then they are redirected through the plugin to an amazon store that is closest to them.

So my question basically is: Will this approach cause me seo problems? Do you think this approach can increase conversions?

    Thanks

I don't see why it should cause you SEO problems. Nothing wrong with a google translate button. Be aware, however, that these type of translations are not always accurate, so add a disclaimer so that people who make a wrong purchase do not end up suing you.

Don't put such kind of scripts on your website or blog because search engine faces problem in caching a web page. As usual when you open a website then browser shows a translate option there if is non-English website. I recommend not to use it at all.

Your idea is good, with the help of G.T you will make your site more user friendly and users can read content+products descriptions in his/her favorite language....
