But that one is telling to use this kind of link:

    http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://iconpacks.mozdev.org.

which is totally different than what the thread starter suggested here. Do maybe both work?

However, I tried that technique told here but as long as my site is not indexed in Google I can wait ages to see any traffic from Google images.

Yes the technique would still work .

I just saw that many people werent able to get results .

Notice - You Need to enable image indexing through google sitemaps .

I updated the original thread for this .

I think its pretty much important as i got results on a site which had this enabled ..

This is an important issue otherwise you may not get the results .

Guys, this is IMAGE HIJACKING. You're taking someone else's search results and stealing them. It will get you BANNED. This is not a copyright issue, it's about stealing someone's place in Google image search results. It's a reportable offense, and you can bet I've just reported someone. Hopefully it will get your Adsense account closed too, but we'll see.

C'mon, guys... this isn't rocket science. If you somehow were able to take, say, eBay's result listings in the search pages and make them redirect to your own homepage, do you think you wouldn't get caught and punished for it?

I don't think people who use blackhat SEO techniques care about things like that.

This doesn't seem to work anyway, at least not from my experiment.

I have more than enough image related traffic coming to one of my sites. I don't want it. People come through because they are looking for a picture of X, find it doing an image search, pop through probably to do what the OP cooked up and sod off again.

I talked to my boss and he said Google doesn't care about images unless you named them uniquely

I talked to my boss and he said spamming your site's link will probably get you banned.

Couldn't make it work either, despite image indexing.

the thing is, fair enough this may bring you a fair amount of visitors, but are they targeted visitors? most times when people are searching for images, that is all they want, an image...not a service or information.

I get a steady stream of traffic from google images, BUT, I have to echo what flash9 said - the images are all relevant to my site, so in one sense they're 'targeted', but very rarely do those visitors look at any other page on my site, and it's even rarer for them to put their hand in their pocket. People tend not to look at images in google search when they want to buy something, or sign up to something,or even read anything.

Once your getting traffic with this technique you can use javascript to break the frame and also htaccess to redirect all google images traffic somewhere else, such as an affiliate site ;)
