I have done maybe about 100 images or so. It has been almost a week. And I have not recieved a single hit.

code goes like this on my page:

    <img src="http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:KxDxCP1T2H38NM:http://stration.com/images/canned%2520tuna%25202.jpg">
    Code (markup):
page has H1 heading at the top for the keyword. Meta tags with the keyword, heading with the keyword, and a small paragraph that makes use of the keyword.

I have been a skeptic from the beginning, but I don't beleive this works, unless I have ommitted something.

using Google image search was an idea I had awhile ago, but leeching images/bandwidth from other sites is a blackhat thing to do :(

I thought we had kind of established that it wasn't hotlinking because google caches the images. Either way, people seem to be reporting mixed results. And this technique seems very elusive. I would like to somehow fully understand how and why this works before I test it.

Well it's had no effect on my experiment. I'm not sure whether it's supposed to bring traffic, or boost it but it's not working.

It takes a week or two , even 3 weeks to bring site traffic .

btw what were the keywords for which you got the image ?

I tried this on a new site which gets 2k hits/day but I find my site is not indexed in Google at all despite submitting a sitemap, activating image indexing and googlebot hitting my site every day.

Can it last so long to get indexed?? Or is my domain blacklisted or something? And how to find out about it?

This is an adult related site and I placed 2 pics from Google images 3-4 days ago, so far nothing.

i already mentioned before that if you abuse the system its not gonna help you .

if the working was so easy why wouldnt i have place it on all pages of my site .

the concept works pretty well for blogs and forums because the content is dynamic .
i didnt tested it on static pages .

Yup I have seen this. Some guy is promoting this at Namepros as well. Using the same images with MR Bean to explain his traffic results etc.

While this procedure might be simple and obvious to someone who understands it, the way it is written, it does not explain it well to someone who does not already know.

How is this different from the old fashioned way of getting traffic from Google Images? I have original photos I have shot, and I use them in articles. After a while, those images get picked up in Google Images, and I get traffic. It helps to have alt text tags, it helps to show thumbnails that link to larger images, and it helps to use good anchor text. But I'm thinking that your method is not so white-hat and it makes use of an imperfection in how Google Images works??

How do you know that Google won't change their algorithm so that it no longer works? Or that sites that use this trick are penalized?

I think that you could ad the width=0 and height=0 to your code. So you get the link, however, you don't see the picture. So never a copyrighted problem here...but,hey, what a black hat technique...;)
Beside, with these sizes, you may bring dozens of images without to destroy your pages
    See what I mean ??

    Well, yeah!
That's why people won't make the mistake of mentioning their own keywords here or post with a subject line very similar to the name of their articles!
DP carries more weight with the search engines than you do....
