    I guess you are just being an ass. There is no reason to get nasty, just because you run out of arguments. Some people just cannot admit when they are wrong.

    No, from experience I can tell you that 95% of all people use images without giving credit and as I said, even in the screenshots on the original example no credit was given, but you are too stupid to see this.

    Thanks for ignoring me, at least you wont bother me with your moronic replies.

    Up to I am still wondering where the traffic is coming from. Does your ranking increase? I see a disconnect in the story somewhere. But I am not doubting the idea yet. But instead of wondering, I will try it out myself.

    And for copyright issues, hmmm I think I would not have any. I have several sites and I will Google hotlink images I own from my other sites. LOL

    On the topic of fair usage, you shouldn't really have any problems using copyrighted images if your site is newsy or if it's reviewing something. It's not like CNN pays royalties every time it includes scenes from a movie on the news. They're allowed to do this as part of the fair use doctrine, and ofcourse, as someone mentioned, the people who made the thing being used like the promotion. Google has in the adsense TOS that you can't have adsense on a page with copyrighted images, but still, you see it all the time, and I assume it's allowed to be done because the sites use of them falls under the fair use doctrine.

    Exactly. It's good to see there are some intelligent people here after all.

    I've just realised what makes it so ironic, I'm willing to bet andre75 didn't take that image of George Bush, yet he's using it as his avatar and making him a hypocrite.

    It helps both the site with original content , and the site which copied it .

    According to stats , the original image site received 75% more traffic than previous times .

    Does the site need people to visit it in the first place? So far my experiment to see if it works has shown about 2 visitors.

    if the images are indexed by google and you link to the image through google then it's legal to do so as long as you didn't copy the image to your server ;)

    No, you're still hotlinking the images and using them on your website.

    I think, anyways...would just linking them work? You have to actually include the image on your page, right?

    Some people have copied the content without any legitimate permission and credits .

    I ask them to take the content down immediately .

    Can't you make the pictures invisible on your page? Would get rid of most of any copyright issues.

    visiblity: hidden;
    position: absolute;

    Should do the trick. A "display: none;" won't work because a lot of modern browsers won't load it. But that will only hide the image with CSS, I don't know the legality of that since older browsers will see it.

    Hi,

    what would the full code look like with your parameters?

    Btw, around 95% of all people use new browsers, either IE 6+ or Firefox.

    Yes but is it still illegal for those 5% that don't?

    something like style="visiblity: hidden; position: absolute;" in the img tag will do.
