I notice that I get most of my hits from Google between 9am-9pm and then outside of these hours, Google traffic goes down quite a bit. Since Google is available globally, wouldn't you think that Google traffic would be constant 24 hours a day because as America is going to sleep, other parts of the world are waking up.
no i would always expect most traffic in american hours. What you are saying makes sense and i have always found it strange but i am just guessing that there are more Americans with internet and wanting to know stuff than there are in the rest of the world. Doesn't really make sense
The thing is that China, India and Europe are growing with the number of internet users and that's why I always thought it should be constant.
I get most of the traffic when US is sleeping. My 90% traffic is from India, it just matters what is your content and to which country and people it is targeted to.
Thats because your site content is best suited for some specific region , so in low peak hours in that specific region you get low traffic . Sometime what matter is where your site is hosted , and search engines rank your site good in that country .
Same goes for my sites. I would expect traffic to fluxuate depending on the time of day simply due to languages of each region
If you have a site that is relevant to everyone, say something on cars or bikes, is there any way to get Google to re-categorize your site so that it gets good traffic 24 hours a day?
It depends on: Your website's ranking for main keywords in different regional Google search engines like:- google.com google.co.uk google.ie google.ca google.de etc etc 2. Niche of blog and audience targeting. 3. TLD of your website and location of server where its hosted
If your website is in English then most traffic will be from the USA. Just look at your visitor origin graphs. It's usually 50% USA, 25% Canada, 15% UK, and 10% rest of the world.
