another great bit of info on the sandbox is
    http://www.webpronews.com/insiderre...n-49-20040506GoogleSandBoxEffectRevealed.html

They also seem to be filtering out sites (domains) that have adsense, a lot of folks are reporting that pages that were #1 or very high in search returns, once they added adsesne they have now dropped even off the first few search pages. Seems google may be pushing for more support of adwords for adsense users. Anyone else reading these stats and reports on all of this ?

It appears true and another thing is, a lot of the adsense ads used horizontal ads, and the big jippers using the 'content creation software' sites displayed horizontal ads, you will notice if you search google, that even the adsesne pages that come back the best, display vertical (higher paying ads). There filtering of the 'software content created' websites hurt everone who displayed horizontal ads also.

I reported this observation in February 2004 and to a greater and lesser extent I was poopoohed.

    http://forums.seochat.com/t7954/s.html

I dropped the adsense from the site and it returned

I have another site where I continue to test the "phenomenon" with the same results:

When you use adsense you drop.

Sorry to hear you've had a negative experience. Personally I've noticed that using AdSense has made my search engine position much more reliant on regular new content - if I don't update for a couple of weeks the site disappears of the Google radar but update daily and my traffic goes ballistic! The positive aspect is that its given me more motivation to develop the site and with Adsense effectively paying for the content I can't complain

    Cheers

Sites that seem to be using vertical adsense or 'skyscrapers' and following the default palette are still listed good, others are dropped like flies.

And then of course those that get sandboxed for fast link exchanges or using software to create the content........ but again as I told my bro, there's a lot of other search engines.

I don't even try to get listed on google anymore or use it for my searches, and I did for a few years now.

I noticed a very large drops across multiple domains in the last few days. Some with AdSense and some without. I am sure that some are panicing and making all sorts of changes... As for AdSense affecting this, how does that make sense? Sites with AdSense bring revenue to Google, why would they drop them from the index? It is not in their best interest... I will wait and see how this plays out, but I have seen a lot of my pages dropped from the top 200...
