Google Traffic and crawl rate drops after installing sitemap

After installing a sitemap on the webmaster site, my traffic falls on its face. Can anyone explain this and a remedy to fix it?

 

yes, omg.. i noticed that just now after u mentioned.. i thought it is because one of the most google bot visited site of mine was forum.

any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance.

 

I do not think that installing a sitemap will have a negative affect on your traffic
there is probably another reason for this.

 

There must be some other reason. Traffic can not decrease with sitemaps.

 

I can't say traffic has dropped, but it does appear that googlebot visits less often since I installed a site map. I was realistic about the frequency of each pages updates and I always update the sitemap when I've updated the pages. It's starting to increase again, but googlebot definitely did disappear for some time after setting up the sitemap in WMT

It happened the same day I installed the sitemap. This past Friday

 

did you install google analytics or google webmaster tools too?

I don't trust any of those, google makes to your face like they are your friend with "free tools" like analytics and webmaster, but behind your back they probably use those "free tools" to spy information and possibly use it against your site in the serps and traffic

I will never ever use google analytics anymore on any of my sites, no good ever comes of giving google more information

 

check that the pages which are uploaded in sitemap were already same

may be duplicate content problem or some other

without know ur site solving ur problem is not possible

but one thing is sure that sitemap dont have negative impact on ur site traffic.

so not to worry about sitemap find some other reasons for it.

 

No, the sitemap installation is not affects the site traffic/performance. Because, the sitemap is useful only for fast indexing by Google.

If you think that your site traffic is dropped, then check it in Google Analytics. It will give all the traffic results and compare previous results with present results and find the reason.

 

How? By adding the analytics code at the bottom of each page and the WMT verification on the homepage, how does that give them any more information about your site than they can't already read in the source?

 

How old is your site?

If its a new one, then traffic will fluctuate all the time.

Adding Sitemaps will not decrease any traffic.
