Google toolbar slowing you down?

I have Windows XP-pro, EI 7.0, and the windows toolbar. I often delete temp files, cookies, history, form data & passwords using the EI Tools ‘delete-all.’

My computer system kept running slower and slower.

I figured I had a problem, perhaps spyware that my MacAfee did not catch or a hard drive starting to go on my 4 month old Dell Latitude D610 computer.

This morning it was particularly slow. I rebooted multiple times with no improvement.

I tried something a few hours ago. I removed my Google toolbar.

Oh baby oh, its like I’m in a Ferrari. Pages loading incredibly fast. Its like someone took the governor on the carburetor and opened it up.

I have now re-installed the toolbar and so far so good.

Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have an explanation?

Hmm... I've used the toolbar in the past and it didn't slowed down my internet connection. I don't use it anymore, though.

I never experienced such issues ... and I use the toolbar on few computers for so long. I didn't reinstall my computer for 3 years now and was working fine until yesterday when IE started crashing but I don't relate that to the toolbar ... its more like age that killed it ..

    Cheers,

    Venetsian.

Maybe it was fetching data from a bad DC.

I am using Google Toolbar with some extra extensions at my quite "old" machines like athlon 2000+ or P4 1800 and it works very well.

Try to "clean" your windows, maybe that the case? Google toolbar is not such a spyware or adware which is slowing down pc's.

this is your reason. ^^ just swith toother explorer like Firefox you will see a different. I never used any tools bar though I like a big screen of explorer to see everything clearly. :D

It doesn't slow the internet connection but I find Google Toolbar 3 to be a bit buggy, specially the Google Updater thing. Full of buggggsssss

I think IE 7 could be the cause of the problem. I've been having no problems with Google Toolbar.. ive been using it for over 3 years now on several PCs. But IE 7 slows you down. Thats why i dont have IE 7 on all my PCs.

Google toolbar works fine for me, but when it updates at some time my PC would slow down :(

I think your G toolbar is updating ;)

No slowing down here... so far. :)
Did you add or remove anything else aside from the toolbar?
