Is everyone else seeing pagerank with their toolbar? If so, is there something I can do to fix this or do I just have to uninstall and reinstall?
I had this problem couple of days ago and that was becuse of spyware. Removing spyware may fix this problem. Also make sure you don't have the beta version of google toolbar 3 as it is full of bugs including no PR bug.
I have also read on several forums that the toolbar 3 has a serious PR bug and doesn't show the results most of the time.
Version 3 working perfectly fine on my end ... It is kind of off putting when visible PR goes missing!
It was a bit more than of putting when one of my sites disappeaed from the SERPs and PR stopped displaying at the same time. I suddenly got V worried that someone had done something they shouldn't have.
still not working for me. And if I remember correctly, this thing is supposed to auto update. spyware check- none found.
As of today I have stopped using PR toolbar. I am beginning to see new light Google says 'just keep doing what yer doin and forget about we what we're doin'. After many years of chasing this god damn PR around, I give up. I don't need to know what my PR is, or anyone elses for that matter. Besides I think Google has finally stepped up and said 'we're not showen yu anymore'. Too many webmasters are selling product based on PR...I don't blame Google for making this choice.
One of the advantages of PR is that you can reasonably quickly see if a site is classed as a bad neighborhood.
This is true, in fact was the only reason I was using it. Has become a useless nuisance and I felt the need to shake to monkey off my back. My PR is average (5) on all my core websites. My SERPS are gr8 and have been for quite some time. My SERPS were not as good a couple of years ago (PR7). I give up...I have better things tro do with my time, PR can piss off
PR is an indicator that can be helpful, but don't put too much on it. It has gone the way of alexa in that webmasters and scammers use it to convince people of things that are not always true. PR has been selling for about the last year with no real value. An old competitor's domain name is up to PR6 only because of the holding page it has now at godaddy, who, by the way, have really ticked me off by registering the name themselves in order to sell at a higher price, yet the domain name is basically useless except I wouldn't mind their old customers and the few links they have to be redirected to our site. Oh well. See if I buy anymore domains from godaddy.
