My website sometimes registers a PR 0 on the Google Toolbar. It's actual PR is 4. Has anybody ever had this problem? I'm using Firefox
The toolbar doesn't always hit the same datacenter and some datacenters have older values than others so that's why you see different values at different times. It's best to check your PR somewhere like http://livepr.raketforskning.com/ to see what it is across the datacenters. If the majority show 4 then you are probably pr4.
and why do you know it is actually pr4? most people use the toolbar page rank to refer to PR. I think only for those too techies looks into those real Data center PR. (just my opinion, of course
That's not the problem of google toolbar. I had the same problem, sometimes the toolbar will show all websites' PR as 0, but a reboot will return to normal. Maybe it's just a virus, and google toolbar shall be more reliable.
That also happens to me in firefox. When you change tabs, the Google toolbar displays the PR of the previous page. IE is more accurate in checking PR. Or better if you use a live PR checker tool.
Well, there may be other reasons for the toolbar showing different data but I know for a fact that the toolbar hits different datacenters depending on the load at the different datacenters and other factors. And, of course, i don't mean that this is live PR as no one knows that except for the engineers that can see it at Google. You should see either PR3 or PR4 in your toolbar since the old exported data looks to be PR3 and the newer data is PR4. Otherwise, it may be some of the issues that other people have raised.
