Hi all...could someone explain the diff between a white and gray pr bar on the google toolbar...there seem to be many conflicting explanations Thanks Frank
That is a good question. Years back, when the PR bar was grey, this was a good indication that the site was actually banned from the google algorithm. Yet after time this changed. Now most banned sites will be just a white pr0. I know that some were reporting grey bars a week back when google was doing its update, yet those issues have cleared. Also remember that https and other non standard protocol links will usually show a grey bar. hope that helps some. KG
Well this white with 0 PR could also mean the site has been crawled by google , but no PR since google updates the PR only every quarter. also sometimes grey means google hasnt grawled the site or page as this happen with all my new pages, till google crawls them White with 0 PR (new page, no PR) just made last week ie http://www.supportcave.com/forum/ This is G o o g l e's cache of http://www.supportcave.com/forum/ as retrieved on 7 Jan 2005 03:55:20 GMT. Grey (still new, not crawled by google yet) http://www.supportcave.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=3e3daf1cb9bf3dd282429f59c9c3d71d
My new site had a gray PR, then when it was indexed in Google, it went white. Looks like Google has changed this because previously it was white even if your site wasn't indexed.
