Hi, I've been looking for ways to detect if Google Toolbar is installed on the user's browser. So far, nothing works with the new version 4. Does anyone have any solution on this? Thanks a lot. Thomas.
What have you tried that did not work? Have you tried this freeware? http://www.getfreesofts.com/script/995/28742/Google_Toolbar_Detection_JavaScript.html
hmmm ... search google like this : google toolbar detection Trust me eg : http://www.banbots.com/google-detect.htm
Thanks for your responses, however I already did all the searching on google, but the javascript found is outdated. It only works for older version of the Google Toolbar. Nothing works or found for Google newest toolbar.
Is there something I should know about detecting the google toolbar for SEO reasons? The only ones I can think of are for "bad" reasons, e.g. fake pagerank, circumventing popup blocking, etc.
I made a custom Google Toolbar button for my site, so I want to have a script to check whether or not the toolbar is installed on the user's browser.
any luck with this? i am also looking for a way to find usage stats on custom buttons....any thoughts? (ie downloads, installs, usage)
