http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18090119 Why do I get the bad feeling this is going to hurt us all again.
That should be everyone, need to check better next time, still if google put this live on all search pages where all screwed, if google can just pick all the best content from your site why would any visit.
I think it will affect anyone who is using search engines as their only source of traffic. I think it's a good thing because it's challenging everyone to expand their horizons and not solely depend on Google.
The concept of the system is actually pretty impressive. That was the problem with penguin. All penguin just did was list corporations higher so when you typed in normal keywords "friends" of google would be listed very high. If this is done correctly then practically any site that has a lot of answers for things being looked up will rank higher. This makes me happy because I was screwed by penguin although my site is a great compilation to information regarding the niche. If this rolls out then they would have no choice but to take the site with the best info and rank it. Is that going to happen though? NOPE. Wikipedia will still be first everywhere, cellphone background selling sites by blackberry will rank very high for people looking for information regarding a topic, etc, etc.
Google can and will do whatever they please. They're not in business to please webmasters, but to maximize their profits for the stockholders.
if that will happen, even SEO was in trouble, maybe we can get another job that deals on the mareting side of those cahanges in search engines.
This was gona happen, nothing new in it. Check out freebase from where they collect data. What google wants that if any user search for any particular subject then that answer should be there itself in the search. Rather than showing 10 blue links google might have seen this as an experiment. SEO will be hard for true and in coming years it will be narrowed tats true. Google might want to focus on things that can be present in front of the users rather than jumping on links. Need to see how google is changing. Matter of worry
I have extracted the above content from your BBC article. Sounds good and promising for web users. Overall they are making search better nothing more than that.
