Looks like Google are about to revamp Adsense. Anyone heard any thing about this yet?

That blog is dated January 22, 2005. Today is January 21, 2005 - and its 7:55 am EST (US). I don't believe it's "tomorrow" yet (the 22nd) anywhere in the world... Am I incorrect?

Nice info though. I would expect Google to attempt to improve its primary source of revenue. I'm surprised they have done this more frequently already...

The blog has an .org.au tld and it's Saturday 22nd already in Australia. That is if it hasn't moved since I was at school and learnt about the international dateline :)

After a little research I've found the Australia time is GMT + 11 (daylight savings) or 10 (regular). It was just before 7:55 EST US here which means it was about 12:55 pm (12:55) GMT - add 11 and you get 23:55 or 11:55 pm in Australia, still on Friday the 21st.

Now I could be slightly off, and perhaps server times can differ, but by these numbers I was right on - with 5 minutes to spare... so at least not far off!

:) Okay time to actually do some work!

You are right of course [IMG]

But you did say ...anywhere in the world... and it was Saturday in New Zealand which may be where the blogger is located.

    I hate unsolved mysteries

It sounds like there will be some sort of Adwords API. This could be a huge benefit to large AdWords users.

It will help G's bottomline also. IMO, it's a win-win situation.

Gee you guys get pretty pedantic don't you! the 'Time Mystery' was simply that I'm using a new blogging tool and didn't over compensated for the time differences. Still getting used to it. Anyway - now that we've solved that maybe we can talk about the topic of the post.

By the way there has now been another update on this meeting of Google people - looks like they are releasing API to advertisers so the 'revamp' will probably not impact those of us who are publishers as directly as we may have thought....

ga22, I think premium publishers get more control over what ads are shown for their ad blocks. Us little guys have to rely on big G to spider and decide what are page is all about. The big boys (Premium) get to help the ads along by providing keywords and such (I think). I've seen some prototypes of this on some medium sized sites. I'd be very interested if this is a feature they are going to release to all publishers.

Here is what I'm talking about... I found this on a site (not mine!)... check out the google skyscraper on the left side. Refresh the page a few times if you don't see a Google ad. At the bottom of the ad they let you specify a keyword to change the ads that show:

    http://www.consumeraffairs.com/links/other_resources.htm

This might be a beta feature we could be seeing soon?
