I'm more surprised about Chrome than IE8; I find it stunning that any of Google's products are out of beta. I was under the impression that Search was still technically in beta.

Haha. Yeah, usually they take years to come out of Beta period! Well done Google!

Firefox is the second most used browser.. there is no reason for it to 'fade away' at all..

Mozilla should adopt the one-process-per-tab idea, it's suprising how much it helps.

It wouldn't be hard because Chrome is based off of Mozilla as well. In my opinion I think MS would be best to streamline IE8 along with Windows 7, and offer an upgrade of OSes below it.

If google can demonstrate the speed, reliability, and small footprint of their browser, some manufacturers might just sign on.

IE and chrome can never beat Mozilla Firefox in any respect .. The upcoming release of FF(3.1) is 7 times faster than its successors .
