Disabling google PR toolbar would generate a very big change in the online marketing as we know it now. It has numerous consequences. Though you may still have in webmasters an ideea about the rank of the pages that is not public information. I think google would do a very bad thing disabling PR and I hope it will not do such a stupid thing. If they want people to don't abuse their system they should just improve the system not cut it down.
It's the only reason I have Google toolbar installed. I seriously doubt it is going anywhere anytime soon though.
Its ok with me if google decided to remove PR on our toolbars even this is my main source of income. Its time to move on to some most profitable business. And do some quality SEO.
Sooner or later it will obsolute , so why not remove it now? No body should monopolize the net. If you create a useful content, you get credit for it - not just buy few fat links and start bragging about your authority web site Cheers
But Google would and should do everything it can legally to maximize its profits. This decision will be based on their bottom line, so if you don't like it, remove toolbar and send them an e-mail telling them that's why.
hello... I used to care as PR sent the "PR chasers" my way Now... Im all over the serps for terms ive targeted and most off my directories are recieving traffic from those who seek our services so to me its not really important anymore as i dont have to worry about that anymore.. thx malcolm
I liked how Steve on webmasterworld comment, the PR was kinda keeping in order the link sellers and buyers, removing it will not decrease the link sellers/buyers but it will instead increase the people that got cheated (in a way). Anyway, the only change for me that will have removing the PR score would be removing totally the Google toolbar since the only reason why i use it is the PR score.
People may find an alternative tool. If Google doesn't provide, they may lose lots of webmasters who SEO for Google. It's like they are killing themselves by removing it.
I don't care about PR but along with Alexa its handy to get a rough idea of how "good" a website is, so i hope they keep it tbh
