I'm completely ok with Google taking over the world as many people say, coming out with their own OS, browser, etc. because they have good products. Very simple, clean, user friendly software and programs that can really be appreciated and enjoyed. Ya Chrome isn't my favorite browser coming out of the gates but since when does anyone get it right the first time around. I look forward to what's next.
I've heard a lot of talk about the google OS, but haven't really seen anything confirmed on it. Anyone care to post an official link to this information? I'll definitely be trying it when it comes out, but I'm very happy with my copy of XP. Windows 7 does look promising, but again, XP does all I need, unless it's XP but less heavy somehow, I don't se ehow it's going to be better.
Google Chrome also not my favorite at this moment. Also, it does not give fully support to some software application. It is same goes to Window Vista.
I heard about that from Google Chrome blogspot. http://chrome.blogspot.com/ The Google Chrome OS team is currently working with a number of technology companies to design and build devices that deliver an extraordinary end user experience. Among others, these companies include Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba. It is not a bad thing. I think. We may buy cheaper computers.
This is actually old news. I think Google's Android will be no match to that of Microsoft's different OSs. It amazes me though how Google wants to surpass the achievements of Bill Gates. They now rule the Internet and still wants to expand and make their OS popular.
If google does manage to bring out a good OS and that too free, it would surely manage to catch the fancy of many newcomers initially. The old timers having already paid for their OS and having got used to the working of the windows, will surely wait a lot longer before going for a switch! Regards, RightMan
At this moment might be hard..but in future, who knows....look at microsoft vista, it make people hate on it...
Yes it's true. But Microsoft is already well establish in an OS world. Beside, Google OS is just based on Linux and Linux don't do well compare to Microsoft for an OS market. - Dynashox -
Did you know that Microsoft runs on over 90% of computers around the world. Google have a big challenge to live up to, but they have a fantastic but simple idea that Microsoft failed to think of. Why store your files on your computer when they can be stored online, therefore making your computer start and run faster. Google will probably be taking a huge chunk of computers that will most likely be using Google Chrome OS in a decade, it'll launch late next year. Good luck Google!
Agree with SeBrantigan, Google always have fantastic but simple idea that Microsoft failed to think of.
ok my opinion google won;t beat ms cause if you using window for last few years you won't change your mind so
i'd support google 100% all the way! their products are so easy to use, unlike Yahoo for example (so complicated) and unlike MS (much worse to be used, way too far from being friendly) so i beleive that an OS from Google would be the best
Google is certainly giving Microsoft a scare with their OS announcement. Why else would Microsoft announce they are doing a free online version of Word and Excel to combat Google Docs? Microsoft has dominant market share for sure but if they're not careful, Google will sneak up on them with their 'cloud' computing idea and snatch a decent share of the consumer market who is sick of paying money for overpriced software which Google is offering a decent, free alternative for! In New Zealand, our national postal service NZ Post has just announced they have signed a deal with Google for 3 years to use them for their email and messaging ie gmail, video chat.
Recently using Chrome, a bit slow performance. Also some application chrome still cant totally support.
Google is going to have the same problem most Linux Distro's have, hardware and software compatibility issues. Just cause its free will not fix those issues. Waste of Google's investors money if you ask me. Just like their Chrome browser, really how many people use that as their main browser. In no way do I support Micro$oft, but they control the PC OS market.
