I am new to this whole website building adventure and SEO. I was just wondering if everyone could tell me how long it took them to get indexed by Google so that I may have an average time. The wait is killing me, but I am doing everything I have read to get it indexed faster.
I think it depends on which links google is following to get to your site. A link from a PR 5 site gets an unknown site indexed in maybe 1-2 days.
I agree. The number and PR of the links coming into the specific page / site will determine how long it will take to get indexed. A well linked page usually takes a day or two, while a site or page that has very few links can take a week or more. Either way, as long as you have links into the site, it will get picked up in a relatively short amount of time.
Try this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/search.php?searchid=794037 In the end you just have to start building backlinks and wait. I have found that a slower, more natural build on a site will increase you likely hood for SERP's. In the end SERP's and more important than indexed pages or even PR. Good luck with the new site.
Google is quite fast at noticing new sites, getting your site properly indexed can take some more time if you have lots of pages specially if they are not unique content.
Now that you all have given me a time frame, where in the world can I go to get a PR7 or above link without having to pay an arm and a leg for it. Free would be even better. Thanks for the replies and help.
