Google the next Digg.com?

I noticed a few weeks ago that my search results allow me to vote and post comments on results.
A little experimentation with a co-worker demonstrated that comment posted by one of us are available to the other.

Does this mean google is becoming a search based digg?

That's a part of Google Personalization developments.
However, those votes won't be used to rank websites within the search engine for now..
And it will only affect users who are already signed in to their google accounts ;)

Yep, they are only when you are logged in so make sure you log out when you are "on your own time" if you know what i mean. LOL

I'm sure its also a way to improve their direct marketing.
