Techcrunch announce the first tests of PPA (Pay per Action) for adwords : http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/03/21/digesting-googles-new-ppa-advertising-product/
I can't wait for this to get going. I think it'll be a big improvement over cpc. No more wasted money on browsers who don't buy anything and it'll reduce fraud.
This is available actually on AdWords? It will be nice to pay publishers when i maked a sale through them. I am looking forward to spend a lot on this advertising programs.
PPA ( Pay per Action) along with PPC. Google is running a test trial. which is better for webmasters..?
Nice .... if you have a product or service to sell, this is going to be a great way for you to advertise!! Cool stuff...
This could also lead to a decreas in PPC market? Let's say I'm advertising a product. Why would I choose to pay per click when I can define an action that results in a sale? I still get those visitors like I would with pay per click - only now I pay only when the visit results in a sale... Maby I'm of on this one but - I'm not liking this...
It's no different than affiliates really. PPC will still definitely have a place although there are certainly some PPC advertisers who will use PPA.
When I wear my advertising hat, I say, " this is great!" Switching to my AdSense publisher's hat, I say, "This sucks . . . " However, such an approach would have two beneficial side effects. It will kill the MFA segment of the web and by doing so, it will vastly improve the relevancy and quality of search engine results.
i was worried about that too...this could maybe hurt the ppc market? but it seems like ppc would be big enough to survive alongside the new action methodology. i guess we'll see in the months to come.
The real question is not whether advertisers will use it ... but will webmasters display these ads? At least with PPC you get a share of the clicks. How many clicks is it going to take for a sale? Maybe 1 or 2 per hundred ... maybe less. Google has to up the ante considerably ...
FYI: This beta feature is currently available to AdWords advertisers in the United States on a limited basis as part of Google Beta Test .
