The article that I read last week said that Google was looking into free, advertiser supported phones. I wish that I had bookmarked the article because this is the first that I am hearing about them charging for the phones. I wouldn't mind paying for one of their phones but I think that making them advertiser makes more sense because their stock will probably go more through the roof than it already is.
HTC - HATED TELEPHONE COMPANY for me... MDA 2, MDA PRO bla bla, sold them, I hate restarting my phone few times a day.
Or it might just be cheaper? Imagine a Google Phone that does everything the other phones do but costs much less. Google can afford to not even make a profit on the phone and just use it to kick start their campaign to dominate the mobile internet.
knowing Google, it won't cost alot and from what one of the directors of Google said, 'phones should be free' So I guess I'm safe to say, the phone will cost about $100 and calls and txt will be free! but you will be attacked with ads (and I don't mean adsense) I still want an iPhone however if the Google phone really is going to be free, I'll get one of them too
Hmmm... kind of? But in the technology world. It is a good marketing idea to branch into this market. Once they start selling google toilet paper.. we'll know what's wrong..
This is one of the articles I was talking about: engadget.c*m/2006/11/13/google-chief-sez-your-mobile-phone-should-be-free/
Heres the link first off: http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news/news.phtml/9143/10167/Google-showing-prototype-gPhone-reports.phtml All I can say is WATCH out I-PHONE! I dont have much information on the phone but I did want to share with everyone.
Interesting link. Don't look like anything special, in fact it looks a lot like the LG Chocolate phone. Which looks a lot like the Samsung e-900 Be interesting to see what Google will do to make it any better than these 2 phones that have been on the market for ages.
