Google Talk - Why is nobody on it?

I am finding Google Talk to be the best instant messanger type software. It's clean, doesn't slow your PC down and your not bombarded with adverts like you get with MSN, Yahoo Messanger or that AOL one. It's been around a while but I am finding that hardly anyone uses it???

That's why I think it's good - isn't the fact that it's lite and does what it says on the tin make it great. Don't you find the ads annoying?

    Maybe just me.

I've been using Gtalk since last year. I found it simple and easy to use.

Lots of people are used to Yahoo and MSN so it will take time for G Talk to become familiar with users all over the world.

It's surprising for me to hear that gtalk is rarely used. I know so many people that use gtalk more than Yahoo! Messenger. Though I like both, I have more friends added on my gtalk.

...and I thought I was the only one. :)

I am a member of a few forums and everyone of them has a facility add you chat messager details, from Yahoo to AOL, but none includes GT.

I have it but don't use it much because most of my contacts are already on YM and MSN.

Even if you use gmail it's not obvious that there is chat functionality. That could have something to do with it.

That's what I am finding. As YM and MSN are most established most people are on them?

On a seperate note, Is that your Ducatti?:)

I am with you, I don't need much of smileys, but chat clients are mostly used by teenagers and such...

Instant messenging is mostly used by teenagers who requite all sorts of flashy stuff. And that's why WLM is the most in tune with the market. I never notice the ads, and it has lots of features and expandibility.

Google Talk is instant and very popular these days but when you use it on the browser Google Chrome you will have the hard time finding the typing window. I find Yahoo! Messenger better than Gtalk.
