    Hi

My mother has a dialup internet connection (28.8). Has anyone used GoogleTalk on dialup - was it worth the effort? how were the delays?

I've used it with broadband and thought it was great - just not sure about the slower speeds

I can't imagine there would be any major delays. I have dial-up at home and any IM I use is just as fast (other than sending files) as any other connection when I'm just talking to someone.

I dont see why it be problematic as there isn't that much info being tranferred across, a bit like how IRC function on seriously crap connections (i've IRCed while getting 0.8kb/sec)

Wow. I thought our 49.5 kb/sec connection was slow.

I have used it on dial-up at 28.8 -- for text, it's quite fast. My brother used voice on it via Skype and I got fair reception of that, although I didn't attempt to use voice to answer.
