Not tried it yet. I use Bitlbee for IM so I can see everything through one interface (irc). For voice, if it doesn't interface with my voip network then I'm not interested.
Can't... It just does not seem to install for some odd reason. I am of course using a bit more advanced system, you know... a Mac I prefer iChat and Yahoo Messenger personally... The thing is there are way too many people tied to them. Like you said, its not like people are gonna dump it overnight. I have to have both Yahoo and iChat messengers running at all times because of the wide range of people I have to communicate with. They tend to use either or. They should all be using iChat IMHO. Would make my life much simplier
Got an invitation from my cousin, installed it and tried it... No problems, easy-to use. But it does not support WebCam...
I love it, but then again, I appreciate simplicity. Also, it seems to use up a fraction of the system resources of any other IM I've seen before. The VOIP interface is great and the alerts are handy too!
Google talk is working good for me, previously i was unable to do voice chat outside IIT campus, now I m able to do that easily, anywhere across the voice clarity is extremly good, even when i m using a proxy server, which is a linux box. Google has surely revolutionized this IM thing for sure cheers Konqueror Vivek
At the moment it does not interest me .. all these things seem to bring my productivity down... I've uninstall all type of messengers from my PC. Maybe one day when I am rich enough to chat all day, I'll install them again
Skype is far better. If Skype tanks due to eBay buying it, and G talk catches up to where Skype is I might switch. I'm currently in Asia, use Skype for Skype-to-Skype calls and Skype-to-phone calls to several countries. Works very good, costs little or nothing to use. Useful for collaborating on projects with its conferencing, file transfer, and video (through 3rd party addons).
I use Ibibo messenger for audio and video chatting. I liked it for its good voice and video quality in chatting. Before Ibibo I have used yahoo, skype, gtalk, etc. But never satisfied with them. Now I'm waiting for release of next upgraded version of Ibibo. I also like Windows Live messenger, but its setup file is too large.
Gtalk is really amazing. Almost at every page my gtalk is available: igoogle, google reader, google plus
Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger have cornered the instant messaging niche, in this case Google has its work cut out
