Google swapping my ranked pages

    Hello,

One of our websites has recently dropped by about 5 places for one of our main keywords. I know that rankings fluctuate but i noticed that at the same time, Google decided that the page which should rank for this keyword is actually a sub page and not the home page.

Previously the home page has always been the page that has ranked for this term.

Any ideas why Google should all of a sudden decide to change the page that i ranks for this keyword? Also, should I be worried? Should the home page always be the one which ranks for your keywords?

First anyone of your pages can rank..it doesn't have to be the top home page..next you should check your backlinks..because maybe that sub page have more then your home..this could be the reason it changed.

I've had this problem before. The sub-page might have a lot more content related to the keyword phrase, so you could change some things on the page to un-optimize it.

There is nothing to worry, if your website was raked previously, it will get its rank back.
