I could have sworn that Google Adsense had a line about illicit drug sites not being able to use Adsense. Yet following a Digg post tonight took me to http://www.onmarijuana.com/ and sure enough, there are Adsense ads all over it. In addition, there are ads that are very much relevant to marijuana. What's going on here? Is Google turning a blind eye in support of marijuana?
Most likely they don't know about it just yet. The publisher probably signed up using a different site and has put the code on this site as an afterthought - a rather unwise afterthought. I can understand them turning a blind eye to an educational site, but this is kind of condoning marijuana use. Not appropriate.
1. It seems Adwords is allowing marijuana related ads since it has plenty of diverse and relevant ads. 2. Google is a California corporation. Marijuana is decriminalized in California and legal for medicinal purposes. Thus, in their state of incorporation, it is not an illicit drug which their policy prevents. 3. Various caches show the Google ads have been on that site for awhile. *goes off to start a weed site*
Google Ads haven't had a problem with marijuana sites for a while now. That site is a good site though. I have bookmarked it.
That sites got some cool stories I never realised there was a swimming pool housing lots of marijuana only 35 miles from my house
Isn't marijuana suppose to be the holy stuff for a religion? Oh well, good site there actually! ** runs off to register a marijuana domain **
Google seems to be getting slow with everything at the moment. I'm feeling pretty sorry for their staff who are blatantly letting loads of spam through!
