Google Suggest: Will it prove to be a death nail for long tail keyword search??

Google recently launched its 'Google Suggest' feature across all the data centers. The suggestion are well defined/described keywords and people are more likely to choose one of the options listed. This would eventually mean that those search terms will attract more traffic than others. It would to some extent mean that long tail keywords/misspelled keywords would get less traffic than before.

    Comments are welcomed.

this suggestion feature also use user history search data and as I could see in last couple of days my website has more targeted and high-traffic keywords. BUT remember one thing that most of the casual users are typing looking at the keyboard and then pressing ENTER button or SEARCH button after typing is finished.
anyway I think its more UP then DOWN for us since there are a lot of traffic that what to use our products but can't because they don't know what to search for.

Very true, for people you are unsure of what they are looking for, Google suggest is a very good option. It even gets better if your targeted keyword (s) is listed in it.

I think that you'll get fewer hits for some misspellings as users learn to hit the down arrow. I've got one misspelling on a page that gets a few hundred hits a month. So far there hasn't been any effect, however, I expect it to at least be cut in half as users get more sophisticated.

misspellings quires comes from people that are looking at the keyboard when they are typing not the monitor and I assume its a majority of internet users. We could see the result only in a year or a half when everyone would realize this feature and start to use it widely. BTW its a great tools for a keyword research since its showing the most searchable quires!
