    Well, yesterday Google filed a lawsuit against Pacific Webworks who runs some of those “Google Cash” type offers. They’re suing for Trademark Infringement, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. Nickycakes has long wondered how these people can run these offers with the Google logo displayed in their own logo and not get sued.

    They used names such as:

    * Google Adwork
    * Google ATM
    * Google Biz Kit
    * Google Cash
    * Earn Google Cash Kit
    * Google Fortune
    * Google Marketing Kit
    * Google Profits
    * The Home Business Kit for Google
    * Google StartUp Kit
    * Google Works

    For those who are unfamiliar with this type of business, basically, they offer a “Google Cash” kit which promises to teach you how to earn thousands a month by “Posting links on Google.” You are supposed to pay $1.99 or something for shipping, and after the “trial period” you are billed a monthly fee, usually around $80. The trial period is usually something like a week or two, and the whole idea is that the customers won’t realize that it’s actually a monthly service and think they’re getting the whole thing for $1.99 “shipping.” Read more

    I'm actually surprised that Google has let it go on for so long. They are a huge empire with tons of money and should have sued these guys long ago.

    It just goes to show that eventually trademark issues will catch up with you... might take a few years but it will catch up!
