Well, yesterday Google filed a lawsuit against Pacific Webworks who runs some of those “Google Cash†type offers. They’re suing for Trademark Infringement, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. Nickycakes has long wondered how these people can run these offers with the Google logo displayed in their own logo and not get sued. They used names such as: * Google Adwork * Google ATM * Google Biz Kit * Google Cash * Earn Google Cash Kit * Google Fortune * Google Marketing Kit * Google Profits * The Home Business Kit for Google * Google StartUp Kit * Google Works For those who are unfamiliar with this type of business, basically, they offer a “Google Cash†kit which promises to teach you how to earn thousands a month by “Posting links on Google.†You are supposed to pay $1.99 or something for shipping, and after the “trial period†you are billed a monthly fee, usually around $80. I'm still running campigns on these kind of offers related to Google fine, no problems for me, but who didn't see this happening?
I'm actually surprised that Google has let it go on for so long. They are a huge empire with tons of money and should have sued these guys long ago. It just goes to show that eventually trademark issues will catch up with you... might take a few years but it will catch up!
