I highly doubt the small company will win...all of the suit sounds awfully fishy and their tool itself is based on Google's Gmail so it's an absolute waste of time and resources on the part of LimitNone.

Not to mention you can easily copy e-mails using things like Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird.

    *yawn*...stupid world.

Nobody will pay for an Outlook>Gmail migration tool (I wouldn't) so where do they get the "lost" $950 million from? Did they expect Google to pay them almost a billion dollars for it?

That is the question for the plaintiff to answer to the court's satisfaction.

They will probably get a few hundred thousand out of this in a settlement hearing...

dont forget the time to develop, salaries, lost time, breech of contract (if google did do what was claimed) and google income and the popularity of the tool (free or not) could all be used in deciding the 950 million loss

They still have to prove the program would have brought them money equal to or greater than all that (which was their capital). If I talk to Google and they tell me to throw my money down the drain, after which Google will use that drain, it doesn't mean that it was a "loss" caused by Google.

A little bit off-topic but Google seems to be specializing in copying others. It's new favicon is almost a replica of the one at Guardian Unlimited, www.guardian.co.uk

This one has a better quality though.
