That's pretty nice, I hope Google loses and finally decides to update it's system so other people don't get cheated also!

That's where I'd place my bet too - Google, like any company, would spends 3:1 to keep out of a court and risk a loss which would only damage image, brand efficacy, etc.

Further, the suer will have to make it out of the discovery phase and be able to prove fault which will be tough IMO. Simply filing papers does not make a legitimate case ...

When I first read the headline I was intrigued. Then I looked at it and saw it was being used as the test case for a class-action lawsuit. I got a little suspicious at this point. I would be curious to investigate the connection between AIT and the lawfirm that is spearheading this class action.

Reading some more I learned that "...lying and stealing are wrong." Which I agree with, I just do not know if that makes a compelling argument in the court of public opinion. I also don't think their methodolgy of just calling all clicks from the same IP click fraud is the least bit accurate.

I do, however, agree with the phone bill analogy. I think adwords users should get a detailed listing of all click activity broken down by ip etc.

As for their webhosting storefront plan... Talk about throwing money away.

You are right Mr AEIOUY but i cant imagine how much work will it have to do(google) if they give the adwords users every details of IP etc.
Under the present system the adwords results are delayed by some time but if they start the detailed IP reports you can guess the time what they will need to report.

In my view Google never cheats anyone because they Earn legally a LOT.
Then don't need to charge advertisers Illegally.

It's not that they want to scam people its just that they dont take maximum prevention measures. I dont see how its even any problem to show details of IPs. Come on its very very simple. They release Urchen 5 public for free yet they cant do the exact same for adwords and those are paying customers.

Some advertisers spend thousands of dollars a month, i believe google owes it to them to provide as a minimum click thru details at the ip level.

Im registered to www.eTracker.de that lets me see all the logins to my sites.

    For instance
    site A
    1) eTracker records 310 uniques for 11/12/2005
    2) google adwords account (that advertis's this site) shows 615 clicks for the 11/12/2005 - my bill from google is $112

Where did my other 300 clicks go (google say there was 615 directions to my site, my records show that the landing page only got 310 requests)... 300 clicks got lost (failed to fully load my ass)

It cost me $112 us dollars, of which half the cost was lost ... And times this by 30 days a month...

Im keeping a tally of all this and believe you me ill be involved in a class action suit when the time comes :)

What i think is going on here is that they did get fraudelent clicks but they didnt get charged for it... they however do not realize that they didnt get charged for them :p

    Nothing will happen :|

Isn't AIT one of those companies that calls people who just registered domains?
