    You asked ME my opinion so I gave it, we agree so that's lovely.

    As for the second part of your question it all depends - and reminds me of the debates over whether we should be teaching kids a subject or just to pass exams, because they're 2 quite different things.
    • If you are employed to provide SEO services then DA and PA are probably good measures of your success
    • If the site is your own then your focus shouldn't be just on SEO as sites whose development is driven around SEO tend to be soulless, trafficless wrecks.

    If you are a new site, then you will need some level of good seo...
    however, if your content only drives people away, then google will
    see this as a sign that people do not like your site, and penalize...
    and go after social signals before trying to capture any high PR links...
    if you get high pr links first, and you do not have any social signals,
    then google will take this as a sign simply because no one is talking
    about you through social sites, but you have high pr links....

    People these days are so concerned about backlinks and traffic that
    they do not seem concerned about having good content. links are
    of no use or value if your content sucks, and your site drives visitors away....

    You goal is to retain visitors as long as possible on your site, because this
    tells google that they actually like what they see, however if they leave
    within just seconds, then you maybe at risk of a penalty in the future...
    (more so if the majority of your traffic is bouncing at a fast rate of speed...)

    Use nothing less then:

    1: high quality design..
    (design should be unique)

    2: high quality content
    300-500 words of plain text is not high quality, even if it is unique.
    try 5000-7000 words packed with graphics, images, and videos...

    3: seo should be last, maybe 5-10 backlinks per
    week if you are going after high pr links...

    however, some cant afford the above, and it turns
    out to be a repeat failure from one site to the next.

    1: they use premade templates
    (design quality is normally very bad...)

    2: they use low quality content between 300-500
    and is written by someone that cant even speak English,
    or it is spun to the point of no return...

    3: They continue to buy those cheap link packages...
    and keep wondering why they keep getting penalized....

    those that are desperate will follow the latter, and they will be
    penalized by google over and over, those that follow the first
    step, and have plenty of patience are most likely to make it.

    It is not a freaking mystery, follow the guidelines that google has
    laid out, and you will be least likely to ever get penalized.

    Help needed ?
    I have added a toolbar named (SEO Status PageRank/Alexa Toolbar) in Mozilla Firefox,
    problem is that this toolbar stops working after 2 to 3 days and stops showing PR of pages, as requires uninstall again install this toolbar again.
    Anyone help me about this prob or suggest me any other tool or extension helpful for PR and Alexa.:eek::eek:
