That's simply because you are not well ranked in google. Say you had #1 in both google and msn, the traffic generated by google is n times the one from msn.

Google has more then 50% of the market not because of their cool homepage. some are saying it is word-of-the-mouth, yes it is, and people kept on using google because of its results quality compared to its competitors.

The original post is discussing the results of google so don't use traffic to your sites as a criteria.

That is undoubtedly correct. If only 5% of your traffic is coming from Google, it's because your site is poorly optimized and/or you are using an SEO approach which Google recognizes as spammy or "black hat", like keyword stuffing.

I'd also suggest that this is almost certainly the reason you think "Google sucks" and that only "stupid people" use Google. In fact, it is probably the reverse - that when it comes to Google, your site sucks and "smart people" can't find you.

    lol minstrel

Judging what smart people use and what stupid is only funny.

Fact is: Google is bigest search engine.
Fact is: most people use Google.
Fact is: there are smart and stuped people.
Conclusion is: take it or leave it.

Even if google isn't the best, I would still use it most of the time for it's clean interface. If you go to yahoo.com or msn.com there is so much mess around the search bar, which is perfectly okay as yahoo and msn are more like portals anyway.

But go to google and there's just plain old search. Yahoo and msn give you a headache because of all the colors and information.

On top of that: I still think google has to most relevant results most of the time, so it's an easy decision anyway :D

Thats the truth. if you rank first on google youll see you get much more traffic. i think google gets more people just because its more user friendly. It doesnt have a cluttered page like msn and yahoo do. At least the home page, simple search box and thats it.

Is that why you rarley see a site less then 3 years old ranking for popular terms, because they all use "key word stuffing"

I love how bad SEO's hate Google. I don't blame them but I think it's funny how they think MSN's results are more relevant.

It make-a no sense to me.

Yup . . .you can't use bad SEO and expect Google to love you.

If you change your SEO tactics you will rank better in Google.

Okay . . . 98% huh? Seems high . . .maybe 98% are right and your wrong. lol

actually ministril this is what you said

I would say this statement is not correct at least in most cases, most new sites don't get much traffic from google, at least in my experience, unless the site has thousands of pages, which in that case its possible to get google referers quicker.

All I do is that I try to use as honest SEO as possible. Seems like google felled in love with blackhat directories made by your grandmother

We can always turn around it, but then the 2% will consist of retarded people, such people can't figure out how to make a simple link to their site.

And you have a good mental health? :p

If you want to face the facts all 3 have good and bad examples results. It's just a matter of preference.

And for the record, I don't dislike google minus the fact that they sacrifice fresh new sites rankings for the sake of blocking some spam.

How is a 5 year old site that hasnt been updated on a scientific subject more relevant than a 3 month old site that has newly updated correct information on the same subject? I find this to be the most appealing and "stand out" thing that MSN has... they let new sites rank over old outdated ones.

Google shows me more relevent results than any other search engine.

I don't really understand why you are so against them. If you don't like it - than don't use it :)
